The Fourth Designer

The fourth designer: Valentino Garavani

Many of you may be familiar with the work of Valentino Garavani, commonly known as just Valentino. He was born in 1932, in Lombardy, Italy. He is the founder of the Valentino SpA brand and company. In 1962 he had his first breakthrough in Pitti Palace in Florence, Italy. It was after this show that his line was on high demand from buyers all around the world and received lots of praise from the press. In 1967 Valentino was given the Neiman Marcus Fashion Award. He has dressed great women such as Audrey Hepburn, Elizabeth Taylor, Jayne Wrightsman, Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis, and Princess Margaret. His work is unique. Each dress has been designed and made with the utmost attention to detail. His dresses may appear simple, but if you look closely you can see that, in fact, the fabrics have been subtly chosen to serve and compliment one another. I think it does him justice to say he is the "Maestro of Italian Couture."

The Third Designer: Victoria Beckham

Victoria Beckham was born 1974 in Essex, England. You may recognize her as a former Spice Girls member or as the wife of legendary soccer player David Beckham. More recently, Victoria has made herself known as a fashion icon. Her fashion career was launched when she started a sunglasses line called dvb Eyewear. Following dvb Eyewear, Victoria created a line of denim called dvb Style. Her clothes are modern and edgy. She uses lots of sharp lines, geometric shapes, and monochromatic fabric.
