Third Movie Choice: "Romy and Michele's High school Reunion"

Romy and Michele's High School Graduation is one of those uplifting films that everyone should see at least once. It tells the story of two women who have been best friends since childhood. The theme of the movie highlights the importance of embracing friendship and staying true to who you are at heart.

Staring: Mira Sorvino and Lisa Kudrow
Director: David Mirkin
Date:1997

TRAILER:

Second Movie Choice: "Thelma and Louise"

Thelma and Louise is a great movie to watch when you feel like you need empowering inspiration. Not only is the plot engaging, but the imagery and shots are also eye opening. Susan Sarandon and Geena Davis' performance is utterly unforgettable in this film.

Starring: Susan Sarandon and Geena Davis
Director: Ridley Scott
Date: 1991

TRAILER:

First Movie Choice: "Get Shorty"

For all those movies lovers Get Shorty is a must see. It's got that great 1950's gangster movie feeling, but with a exhilarating comedic relief.  The plot is refreshing and is just the right amount of complicated.

Starring:  John Travolta, Gene Hackman, Rene Russo, and Danny DeVito
Director:  Barry Sonnenfeld
Date: 1995

TRAILER:

The next theme of the week is movies. We have seen a lot of movies, and have chosen seven that we think are some of the best:) Hope you enjoy them too!

The Fifth Designer: Dolce&Gabbana

The high fashion company, Dolce & Gabbana, was founded in 1985 by Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana. The two met in Milan and immediatly clicked; not only were they perfect business partners, but also perfect life partners as well. Dolce and Gabbana were both inspired by Italy's film history and from that inspiration created clothing statements that have changed the fashion world.
It is said that Dolce and Gabbana's goal is to create clothing that is flattering for a woman's body and personality. Although it was not their intention to start numerous trends and become the world famous, they did exactly that. Today Dolce & Gabbana are known for embroidered/printed coats, wearing underwear as outerwear, empowering suits for woman, and wearing the color black.

The Fourth Designer

The fourth designer: Valentino Garavani

Many of you may be familiar with the work of Valentino Garavani, commonly known as just Valentino. He was born in 1932, in Lombardy, Italy. He is the founder of the Valentino SpA brand and company. In 1962 he had his first breakthrough in Pitti Palace in Florence, Italy. It was after this show that his line was on high demand from buyers all around the world and received lots of praise from the press. In 1967 Valentino was given the Neiman Marcus Fashion Award. He has dressed great women such as Audrey Hepburn, Elizabeth Taylor, Jayne Wrightsman, Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis, and Princess Margaret. His work is unique. Each dress has been designed and made with the utmost attention to detail. His dresses may appear simple, but if you look closely you can see that, in fact, the fabrics have been subtly chosen to serve and compliment one another. I think it does him justice to say he is the "Maestro of Italian Couture."
