The sixth designer: Coco Chanel

Gabrielle Chanel, most commonly known as "Coco" was born in 1883 and is known for changing the appearance of women during the early 1920's. Coco, a french designer, freed women from the limiting of the popular corset style by creating a line of clothing that was "casual", loose, yet still elegant and sophisticated. She is most famous for coming up with the iconic "little black dress" as well as her suits for women. But her genius goes beyond clothing, she is also known for her fragrance (especially No.5), jewelry, and handbags.
