The Fifth Designer: Dolce&Gabbana

The high fashion company, Dolce & Gabbana, was founded in 1985 by Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana. The two met in Milan and immediatly clicked; not only were they perfect business partners, but also perfect life partners as well. Dolce and Gabbana were both inspired by Italy's film history and from that inspiration created clothing statements that have changed the fashion world.
It is said that Dolce and Gabbana's goal is to create clothing that is flattering for a woman's body and personality. Although it was not their intention to start numerous trends and become the world famous, they did exactly that. Today Dolce & Gabbana are known for embroidered/printed coats, wearing underwear as outerwear, empowering suits for woman, and wearing the color black.
